Cookie policy

Last updated 29 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-29

The short version
  • Essential storage keeps the site working and remembers your cookie choice. It is always on.
  • Analytics and advertising cookies are off until you switch them on. Rejecting them doesn't stop you using any part of the site.
  • You can change your choice at any time.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage and tracking pixels, work in the same way, and this policy covers them too. Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the EU ePrivacy Directive, we need your consent for any of these that aren't strictly necessary.

The cookies we use

Durations are set by each provider and can change. We check this list whenever we add or change a tool, and ask for your choice again when it changes.

Cookies set on another company's domain (such as facebook.com) are that company's to control. When you switch a category off, we delete its cookies that sit on our own domain. To remove the others, clear your browser's cookies or use the platform's own settings, linked in our privacy policy.

Google Consent Mode

We use Google Consent Mode v2 in its basic form. Until you allow analytics or advertising, no Google tag loads at all. If you allow one but not the other, the Google tag is told which one you refused, and it doesn't use cookies for that purpose.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal of advertising. Advertising stays off even if you choose "Accept all", unless you switch it on yourself under "Choose what to allow".

Changing your choice

Use , which is also at the bottom of every page. We ask again after 180 days, or sooner if we change the tools we use. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. Blocking essential storage means we can't remember your choice, so you will see the banner on every visit.
